Find out more about
LF sleep apnea & center offers a complete evaluation of all sleeping disorders.
At first you will be examined by both neurologist and otorhinolaryngologist who will determine the status of your sleeping problem from their field of expertise.
Next step is including state of the art, noninvasive sleep testing – polygraphy and polysomnography.
In order to fully customize your therapy, our center is also providing sleep endoscopy.
Polygraphy is a noninvasive sleep study that uses a portable monitoring device used at home to diagnose sleep apnea. This test measures heart rate, blood oxygen level, airflow and breathing patterns. If the results are abnormal, therapy may be prescribed without further testing. Polygraphy doesn't always detect all cases of sleep apnea, so polysomnography may still be recommended even if the initial results are normal.
Polysomnography is a noninvasive sleep study used to diagnose, or rule out, many types of sleep disorders. During this test, a patient is hooked up to the equipment that monitors heart, lung and brain activity, breathing patterns, arm and leg movements, as well as blood oxygen levels while asleep.
- This test is performed at the clinic during one night and results of this test allow the specialist a detailed insight into patients sleep, and potential disorders.
Sleep endoscopy, or drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE), is a powerful tool for studying the dynamic airway in a sleeping patient with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
- With this approach the success rate of the overall treatment of the sleep disorders is maximized.
- Sleep endoscopy is done in the clinic for few hours after which patient is free to go home.
